LIBERTY, N.Y. — A Single Bite, the Sullivan County nonprofit that provides thousands of meals to families each month, will unveil its newly branded refrigerated delivery van during a community open house Nov. 10.
A Single Bite will host the free event from 3 to 5 p.m. at its headquarters, 92 Commerce Drive in Liberty. Community members are invited to tour the facility, meet staff, enjoy refreshments and learn about the organization’s food assistance and nutrition education programs.
The event will also recognize the Regional Food Bank and Prestige Companies for their support in purchasing and refurbishing the vehicle.
The refrigerated van is central to A Single Bite’s operations, transporting fresh ingredients from local farms and food banks, delivering prepared meals to families and distributing nutritious food to community pantries and partner organizations.
Since 2020, A Single Bite has prepared and delivered 300,000 healthy, scratch-made meals to families experiencing food insecurity. The organization currently provides approximately 1,600 meals each week, with children accounting for more than 60% of recipients.
“One in four children in Sullivan County struggles with food insecurity,” said Audrey Garro, executive director of A Single Bite. “This van represents more than transportation. It connects local farms, generous supporters, and dedicated volunteers with families who need healthy food. We are grateful to The Regional Food Bank and Prestige Companies for helping us extend that reach.”
In addition to its meal program, A Single Bite’s Real Food Education Program reaches more than 700 middle school students annually, teaching them about food sources and how healthy choices contribute to lifelong wellness.
Founded in 2019 by Foster Supply Hospitality, A Single Bite is a Sullivan County nonprofit dedicated to feeding and educating children and their families with real, local food. Its free Family Meal Program provides nutritious, chef-prepared meals to more than 300 families each week.
The Nov. 10 open house is free and open to community members, volunteers, donors and organizational partners. Visitors can also learn about opportunities to support the nonprofit and get involved.
