DELHI, N.Y. — The Delaware County Department of Public Works has closed the Downsville Covered Bridge to through traffic because of structural deficiencies.

County officials announced that Bridge 95, which carries traffic over the East Branch of the Delaware River in Downsville, will remain closed for the foreseeable future.

Motorists are being advised to use alternate routes while the closure remains in effect.

No additional details about the extent of the structural issues or a timeline for repairs were immediately released.
