The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance is accepting applications for its 2027 Arts for Sullivan grants, offering funding for community arts projects, arts education, and individual artists in Sullivan County.
The program includes grants of up to $5,000 for eligible community arts and arts education projects, as well as $3,000 fellowships for individual artists to create new work.
Tanner Simon, DVAA’s grants manager, says the program offers opportunities for a wide range of creative disciplines, including writing, visual arts, music and performance.
For individual artists, the fellowships provide unrestricted funding in three categories: literary arts, compositional arts and visual arts.
“Unrestricted funding to make new work. It’s incredible,” Simon said.
The program also offers $500 mini-grants for first-time applicants who have not previously applied to Arts for Sullivan. These grants have a simplified application process and a rolling deadline, with funding available until the money runs out.
Simon encourages prospective applicants to take advantage of DVAA’s free information sessions, which cover the grant categories and offer an opportunity to discuss project ideas and application requirements. New applicants must attend an information session. Advance registration is required.
The main application deadline is December 9 at 5 p.m. Individual Artist Fellowship applications are due January 31 at midnight. Applications are submitted online through Submittable.
Artists and community groups that do not have nonprofit status may still qualify by working with an eligible Sullivan County nonprofit organization as a fiscal sponsor.
For applicants who find the process intimidating, Simon offers a simple recommendation: “Just talk to me about it and I’m happy to go through every step of the way with you and, you know, demystify it.”
