From classical opera to American masters performers, an impressive lineup will close out Kindred Spirits Arts Programs’ final summer concert series this Saturday, Sept. 12.

Flutist Allison Kiger, soprano Kathleen Echols, clarinetist Juan Esteban Martinez, and pianist Peter Adamcyk will perform on Saturday as part of a dedication to the memory of Allison Kiger’s father and one of Milford’s longtime community champions, the late Bill Kiger.

The Kiger family was long involved in manufacturing Hardman pianos, so Allison Kiger says her father and her mother, Georgiana, always loved classical music.

“They had that strong sense of respect for classical music, even though my dad was not a musician. The way that most people know him as being so committed to the community and service, he was equally committed to the education and the enrichment of children, thankfully,” said Kiger.

Kiger remembers her father spending hours listening to recordings, attending concerts, and fully immersing himself as a lover of classical music.

Pike County-based arts nonprofit Kindred Spirits Arts Programs, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, says the event space at Grey Towers makes the final concert sendoff that much more special.

“[It’s a] very special, very intimate setting, [a] really beautiful place for chamber music,” said Yosif Feigelson, artistic and managing director of Kindred Spirits Arts Programs.

The concert will take place this Saturday, Sept. 12, at 5:30 p.m. under the open-air canopy of the Pool Pavillion at Grey Towers National Historic Site in Milford, Pennsylvania.

You can find more information on the program and ticket details on the Kindred Spirits Arts Program website.
