COCHECTON, N.Y. – Queer rock music takes over the Cochecton Pump House this Saturday, Sept. 12.

The Rock the Roof Off! concert will feature an energetic lineup of queer rock bands We Were Werewolves, Basic Bitches, and Tracy City. 

“Every band that is on this ticket is a high-energy, full-on rock show,” said Tif Wolf, drummer of We Were Werewolves and event organizer.

The event name, ‘Rock the Roof Off!,’ is a playful ode to the Cochecton Pump House’s building design without a roof. Wolf says she hopes the all-ages event is a space where everyone can be their authentic self “whether you’re gay, straight, lesbian, bi, non-binary, trans.”

“Times are really tough right now, and that’s part of why it’s so important to me to bring people together for a show that’s cathartic, that you can yell, scream, dance, laugh, and just be 100% yourself,” said Wolf.

Wolf says the event will bring together creativity and collaboration, including an appearance from local burlesque troupe Flirty Riot and an extensive light and audio show from Grese Productions.  

“ I hope that [attendees] walk away feeling like this is an amazing space, an amazing community filled with incredible artists and musicians, and that they walk away feeling like maybe they said hi to one more person that they didn’t know before,” said Wolf. “I hope they walk away with a smile on their face and saying, ‘I’m glad I went out.’”

The Rock the Roof Off! concert will take place on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. at the Cochecton Pump House in Cochecton, New York. Entry is a suggested $20 donation, though no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
