Route 209 Construction Delays Starting June 2026

Drivers on Route 209 should expect construction-related delays beginning in early June as pavement repair work gets underway between the City of Port Jervis boundary and Cuddebackville, according to the Town of Deerpark Police Department.

The project includes milling and filling along Route 209 from the boundary of Port Jervis to the intersection with Route 211 in Cuddebackville. Work is expected to begin on or about June 1, 2026, and continue through November.

In the days leading up to construction, motorists will begin to see variable message boards, posted construction signage and surveying crews along the roadway.

Daily lane closures are anticipated once work begins, with officials advising drivers to plan for possible delays, use caution in active work zones and allow extra travel time when traveling through the corridor.

The Town of Deerpark Police Department said the improvements are part of ongoing roadway maintenance efforts and thanked residents and motorists for their patience during construction.

  1. I thought they were going to Pave the entire road. They are not filling in the potholes on the side of that long stretch. I still see potholes in the area they are done with. So what exactly is the town spending money on?
