The Upper Delaware Council will host a public presentation Nov. 5 on a $30 million broadband project bringing high-speed internet to more than 22,000 homes and businesses in Sullivan County.
The presentation, titled “Archtop/Sullivan County Municipal Infrastructure Program Overview & Project Construction Update,” will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the council’s office at 211 Bridge St. in Narrowsburg, New York, and will also be available via Zoom.
Archtop Fiber Founder and Chief Development Officer Shawn Beqaj and Sullivan County Information Technology Services Commissioner Lorne Green will discuss the project, which is funded through New York state’s ConnectALL program.
Archtop Fiber, based in Kingston, New York, broke ground in June 2025 on the project, which calls for installing 253 miles of underground fiber conduit. The effort represents Sullivan County’s largest single broadband investment and aims to expand high-speed internet access to unserved and underserved homes and businesses.
The project will also use 11 existing county emergency communications towers to provide fixed wireless access in hard-to-reach areas with mountainous terrain.
Residents and business owners can check address availability, view construction maps and sign up for project updates through the Connect Sullivan portal at Connect Sullivan.
Sullivan County will own the infrastructure, while Archtop Fiber LLC will serve as the internet service provider.
The approximately 30-minute presentation will be followed by the UDC’s monthly business meeting. The agenda includes reports from the Delaware River Basin Commission, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the National Park Service and the UDC executive director. The meeting will also include discussions of old and new business and public comments.
All UDC meetings are open to the public. To request the Zoom link, email info@upperdelawarecouncil.org or call 845-252-3022.
Meeting updates are available at Upper Delaware Council and on the council’s social media pages.
