Liberty, NY – On Tuesday, April 7th, the Liberty Public Library held its annual vote on the library’s tax appropriation for the upcoming fiscal year, 2026-27 and Board Election. The proposed tax appropriation, set at $480,780 for the operation of the library, passed with overwhelming support, receiving 69 votes in favor and 3 against. Karen Kaner was re-elected to the Board of Trustees with 68 votes.
The approval of this tax appropriation ensures continued funding for the library’s wide range of programs, services, and resources for the Liberty community. The funds will support library operations, including print and digital books, e-audio, streaming media, programs, community outreach, and the maintenance of the library building.
